Carolyn Berghuys [BERG-hues] is the Assistant Brand Manager on the Patchology Brand at parent company: Rare Beauty Brands. In this role, Carolyn has end-to-end responsibility for Patchology globally, including annual financial planning, product innovation strategy, as well as marketing responsibility across all disciplines. Carolyn is a key member of the RBB team and, due to her strengths and passions, she was selected to both create and lead the Diversity & Inclusion efforts at RBB.
Diversity & Inclusion are key priorities for Rare Beauty Brands. Under her leadership, the D&I Committee looks to ensure this comes to life both internally as well as externally across both the Patchology, Plant Apothecary, and any future brands. Carolyn believes that as a small, indie beauty company, RBB has the opportunity to do great things in this space. Her favorite projects this year has been the RBB partnership with Black Girl Ventures. This November, RBB x BGV in association with Ulta Beauty, launched their first annual beauty pitch competition to provide an opportunity for Black and Brown female-identifying beauty entrepreneurs to raise capital and gain exposure for their businesses.
Carolyn has over 10 years of Marketing & Brand Management experience and has worked on brands such as: Virgin Pulse, D’Angelo and Papa Gino’s. She has had multiple roles over her career which have included: Marketing, Consumer Engagement, and Brand Management.
Carolyn graduated from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Outside of RBB, Carolyn enjoys indoor rowing, yoga and meditation, and podcasting. As self-care has been imperative this year, Carolyn recommends many Patchology products but especially the Restoring Night Eye Gels, Soothe Sheet Masks, and PoshPeel Pedi Cure Treatment. Carolyn lives in Central Massachusetts with her wife, Ash, their two cats, Plum & Chives, and their new dog, Max, who is 15 years young.
