Mike Romanos is co-founder and CEO of Microbiotica. He has 30 years’ experience in the biotech and pharma industry, having previously co-founded and led Crescendo Biologics over 6 years and held global leadership roles in GSK over 10 years, during which time he formed and led major transnational divisions which helped shape the company’s platforms and pipelines across therapeutic areas and modalities. In his last role in GSK was head of Global Genomics/Platform Biology, a group of 300 staff across 3 countries. Mike is highly experienced in the biotech translation and commercialisation, currently serving as NED/Trustee of the major life-sciences charity LifeArc, NED of the UK's BioIndustry Association, and previously as Translator in Residence at Imperial College, and Venture Partner for UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund. Mike holds a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, a PhD in Molecular Virology from Imperial College, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology.
