Donna Parr, Managing Partner Cross-Border Impact Venture Ms. Parr has over 25 years experience in venture and private equity investing, fundraising and corporate finance working for several venture and biotech funds and the private equity groups of two Canadian pension funds including Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) where she ultimately headed the private equity and venture group for four years. As President of Crimson Capital, an Ontario Securities Corp approved Exempt Market Dealer, she has worked with technology companies and an impact project on fundraising and securing grants/loans and on the managing-to-exit of two venture legacy funds. Donna has prior operational experience as an Executive Director of CellAegis Devices which developed a patented medical device for reducing the impact of heart attacks and stroke using technology she licensed from the Hospital for Sick Children. She also did Business Development for a cleantech company. She has served on 35 boards of private companies primarily on behalf of institutional investors, of which 12 were healthcare technology companies. Current director roles include publicly traded Constellation Software, Centurion Financial Trust (mezzanine debt), and First Resource Management Group (forestry management technology). She is also an Entrepreneur in Residence with FACIT, the commercialization arm of the Ontario Institute of Cancer Research. She holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and Masters and Honours degrees from the University of Toronto in International Relations, with Masters thesis research in Senegal Africa.
